His drama continues! Drew Barrymore has welcomed former actor Hugh Grant 's comment about his singing voice.
"My reaction to Hugh Grant," the Drew Barrymore Show host, 48, wrote alongside the clip, which she shared on Instagram on Thursday (March 16). In the video, Drew sings and grabs a hairbrush as a microphone, saying, “#SingForHughGrant JOIN ME.
The 50 First Dates star's hilarious response came three days after Hugh, 62, was criticized for his performance in 2007 romantic musical Music and Lyrics .
"Drew Barrymore was in that movie with me and I don't think I would hesitate to say that his singing was incredible," the English actor told Wired on Tuesday (March 14). "I've heard dogs bark better than they sing.
However, the reclusive actor later explained that after the production team fixed [Drew], he sounded better [than him] because he had heart, voice and rock 'n' roll.
Hugh made headlines this week for his red carpet interview with Ashley Graham at the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 12. Many viewers thought the exchange was awkward as the 35-year-old American Beauty star was asked a series of questions.
Ashley questioned the Oscars host about who made the dress for the evening, but she brushed the questions aside. He was then asked about his work on Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery , but he replied: "I barely see it. I'm about three seconds in.
Twitter users were quick to call Hugh's behavior "rude".
"Ashley Graham deserves an honorary Oscar for supporting Hugh Grant. Please don't walk the carpet unless you're talking about an actual OSCAR," one person tweeted that night. "Hugh Grant was so rude in the interview!" added another: "Ashley Graham handled it with grace. The eye roll at the end was disgusting! Don't do an interview if you're going to be an ass."
However, some supporters have come to Hugh's defence, pointing out that his position is more valued in the UK than in America.
"It's kind of reassuring to see that Britain hasn't completely reverted to the US culturally," said one social media user, before adding: "Reactions to the Hugh Grant/Ashley Graham interview show (Americans think he was rude, the British don't know it's wrong).
When Ashley was asked the next day if she was "hurt" by Hugh, she told TMZ: "You know what? My mom used to tell me to kill people with kindness, that's it.
